Brixton

A Sud di Clapham si trova Brixton, un quartiere popolato da una forte predominanza afro-caraibica, fino a pochi anni fa non troppo sicuro da visitare dopo il tramonto. E ci siamo capiti.. Recentemente qualcosa è però cambiato. L'alzamento dei prezzi del mercato immobiliare, e una bonifica del quartiere fortemente voluta dal comune di Londra, ha reso Brixton un quartiere vivibile e sicuro, pur conservando le sue peculiarissime caratteristiche. Anche se c'è una High Street con tutti i negozi delle catene più conosciute (H&M, Top Shop, Body Shop, ecc.), e un moderno cinema multisala gemellato con il "mio" Clapham Picture House, lungo la Station Road si trova il Brixton Market, un mercato stabile gestito da commercianti locali con, appunto, origini afro-caraibiche. Durante la settimana si trova per lo più cibo, ma il sabato il tutto si arricchisce con la vendita di prodotti di ogni tipo. Spesso si organizzano eventi a tema, quindi conviene tenere d'occhio il loro sito.
Adiacente a questo mercato si trova il Brixton Village, un accumulo di esercizi al coperto, con ristorantini, café, pescherie, pasticcierie e negozi che vendono "di tutto un po'". Il brunch del weekend attira tantissime persone, anche famiglie, quindi è bene prenotare. See ya!

South of Clapham is located the neighborhood of Brixton, populated by a strong predominance of Afro-Caribbean, until a few years ago not too safe to visit after dark. And you know what I mean.. Often they organize themed events, so you might keep an eye on their site.Adjacent to this there's the Brixton Village Market, an accumulation of indoor exercises, with restaurants, cafes  fish , pastisseries and shops selling "a little of everything". The weekend brunch attracts a lot of people, even families, so it's good to reserve. See ya !
