Best Indian food in town

Lo ammetto, sono una neofita del cibo indiano. E, giusto per restare in tema, mi mangio le mani per aver avuto la curiosità di provarlo solo recentemente. Non è vero che le spezie ti corrodono il palato, non è vero che poi si trasuda curry. Che idiozie. Semplicemente dei sapori nuovi ti solleticano le papille gustative, sorprendendoti con toni sconosciuti e gustosissimi. Che meraviglia!
Il ristorante indiano dove sino ad ora ho mangiato meglio è Dishoom. Covent Garden branch. Il locale è estremamente accogliente, il personale cordiale (fin troppo... I'm fine, stop asking!), e le specialità sul menù buonissime. Ecco, per la cronaca, non fate come la mia amica Samanta, che ha scambiato un peperoncino verde per un fagiolino, e a momenti ci collassa sul tavolo colonial style. Il pericolo è dietro l'angolo.
Se volete evitare lunghe code al freddo, si consiglia caldamente di prenotare. A meno che non vogliate pranzare alle 11am o cenare alle 6pm. Che comunque, vivaddio, non è un reato.

I admit, I am a newcomer to the Indian food. And, just to stay on topic, I'll eat my hands for having had the curiosity to try it only recently. It is not true that spices will corrode your palate, it is not true that then you'll smell curry. What nonsense. Simply the new flavors will tickle your taste buds, surprising you with new and tasty tones. What a treat!
The Indian restaurant where I ate better so far is Dishoom. Covent Garden branch. The location is extremely welcoming, the staff is friendly (too much ... I'm fine, stop asking!), and the delicious specialties on the menu are so good. Here, for the record, do not like my friend Samantha, who traded a green chili for a bean, and nearly collapses on the colonial style table. Danger is around the corner.
If you want to avoid long lines in the cold, it is advised to book. Unless you want to have lunch or dinner at 11am to 6pm. That, however, thank goodness, is not a crime.

La mia amica Samanta, londinese da più tempo di me, mi ha recentemente portato a visitare un negozio delizioso e unico nel suo genere, Tatty Devine. In questo particolarissimo luogo, che è anche un laboratorio, c'è un macchinario magico che vi permette di avere in soli 30 min. una collana in resina rigida personalizzata, con caratteristiche scelte proprio da voi. Si selezionano stile, colore, misura, parola ed eventualmente dei ciondoli da appendere alla scritta, e delle simpatiche ragazze si occuperanno di tutto. Ma il negozio vende anche bijoux già pronti, veramente particolari e di tendenza. Per un regalo un po' diverso, per una pazzia, ma vi prego, NON per avere i nomi dei figli a caratteri cubitali appesi al collo, che non si può vedere.. ;) Siamo sempre in zona Covent Garden ( at 44, Monmouth Street), ma c'è un altro punto vendita al 236, Brick Lane. Esiste un posto magico a Londra, dove si possono trovare capi firmati a prezzi stracciati. Anzi, ne esistono 5, con arrivi giornalieri. Come ben sanno le shopaholics professioniste, in questi posti si trova spesso fuffa, cose difettate, e quasi mai la taglia che ti serve. Ma la pazienza è la virtù dei forti, e io oggi ho trovato cose niente male, con sconti fino al 70%. Ferme, spegnete il sorriso. Sto parlando di capi di grandi stilisti, quindi, nonostante lo sconto esagerato, i prezzi restano comunque alti. Il trench che indosso nella foto è di Valentino, e viene via a £1.160. Ma ne costava £3.220! Tranquille, ci sono tante altre occasioni a molto meno, come scarpe, borse, sciarpe e cappelli, maglieria. There is a magical place in London where you can find designer clothes at bargain prices. In fact, there are 5, with daily arrivals. As well know professional shopaholics, these places sell often the crap, defective things, and almost never the size that you need. But patience is a virtue, and today I found things pretty good, with discounts up to 70%. Stop girls, turn off your smile. I'm talking about the heads of major designers, therefore, despite the discount exaggerated, the prices remain high. The trench coat I'm wearing in the photo is Valentino's, and comes away with £ 1,160. But it is worth £3220! Quiet, there are many other occasions at much less, such as shoes, bags, scarves and hats, knitting. In my opinion it's worth it, they also have a section dedicated to children! Covent Garden

Covent Garden è uno dei miei posti preferiti di Londra. Un po' turistico se vuoi, ma forse, proprio per questo, quando ti ci trovi senti subito un'atmosfera di vacanza. In questo periodo è pieno di addobbi natalizi, e con i musicisti che intrattengono i visitatori, si respira aria di festa!
Intorno a Covent Garden ci sono un sacco di viuzze che vale la pena visitare. Piene zeppe di negozi e bar molto particolari, questa zona ha la capacità di farti perdere anche se conosci Londra da molti anni. Ehemm..

Covent Garden is one of my favorites places in London. A little bit for tourists, but maybe, just because of this, when you're there you get the feeling of being on holiday. These days it's full of Christmas decorations, and with the musicians entertaining the visitors, you can breathe the feast in the air!
